Dr. Robert (Bob) Schnall
Founder
Robert (Bob) Schnall holds an M.Sc in physiology from Melbourne University Australia, and a D.Sc degree in physiology and bio-physics from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
During his career he has engaged in basic and applied physiological cardiovascular and respiratory system related research in human and animal models, with a particular emphasis on the development of non-invasive measurement methods in humans.
Dr. Schnall was associated with the Technion from 1990 to 1997 as a research fellow in the Sleep Laboratory, and the Sleep Disordered Breathing Laboratory, working on a noninvasive continuous blood pressure measurement method, and an alternative treatment for obstructive sleep apnea syndrome based on electrical stimulation of upper airway dilator muscles, where he developed the initial probe technology used in our PAT Technology. He has been a key contributor to its further development since. Dr. Schnall has published over 140 journal articles and patents worldwide, and currently serves as Itamar’s Chief Physiologist.
